A tortoiseshell cat called Midnight navigated two miles of sewers to get back to her home in Cheltenham, England. Midnight had been lost down a storm drain 10 days before.
Midnight’s owner, Jeanette Young, thought she would never see the cat again until a neighbour heard meows coming from underneath a manhole cover outside the home.
Workmen from Severn Trent rescued the cat and explained that the nearest place she could have entered the drain was two miles away.
Ms Young said:
| “It is like a comic book story about a super cat. How on Earth did she find her way back home underground? It has certainly put a smile on their faces.” |
